My name is Jocelyn Chacon and I am a junior at Santa Ana high school. I am currently a veteran in the Youth and government program as it has helped me in many different ways. I have grown not only mentally but grown as a person. I can process my thoughts and ideas in a chronological order. I have learned not only my strength but also my weaknesses in this program and that allowed me to grow. I want to pass everything I have learned from my peers and from my mentors to the new forum. Youth and government has widen my view towards. Youth and government has given the courage to stand up for what I believe in and allow others to be able to hear me. Before the program I did not realize how shy I was speaking in front of a group of people but I was able to over come that minor fear and feel much more comfortable and am capable of proceeding with any speech or event I may need to do.
